Susan Weeks Soden (Susie)

Susan Weeks Soden (Susie) of Cocoa, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky has passed away at the age of 73.  Susie was a native of Rock Island, Il, a graduate of Rock Island High School and Augustana College and earned a Masters Degree in Psychology from Rollins College. She enjoyed a variety of careers as newspaper editor (Illinois), graphic designer (Florida), and Community Service Counselor (Virginia and Tennessee). In addition, she and her husband ran a print shop in Melbourne, Florida for many years. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her lifetime, particularly reading, writing short stories, and crafting. 

She was mother to Laura Sesbeau (Christian Febles) and Carolyn Gahn (Jacob Gahn). Stepmother to Ian Soden (Jordain Farrell) and Michael Soden (Caitlin Soden). Grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren; Victoria, JJ, Finn, Ellie and step-grandchildren, Ethan, Parker and Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Robert Weeks, and her sister Kathy Weeks Ewing. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kevin Soden, all of her children and grandchildren and her sister, Nancy Weeks Rose.

A gathering of family and friends will be 1:30pm - 3:00pm Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center - Brannon Crossing followed by a celebration of life service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, Susie regularly contributed to NPR, St. Jude Children's Hospital and World Wildlife Fund.
