Vincent "Van" Warren

Vincent (Van) Warren of Frankfort, KY Sunrise April 14, 1933 ~ Sunset March 12, 2018 Beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin, Mentor and Friend. Preceded in death by his mother Helen Warren Kirby and his father Robert Johnson. Survived by his son Edward (Joan) Warren, his much- loved grandchildren Danielle Warren and Edward Warren Jr., devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends. Van was born and raised in Frankfort, KY where he attended Mayo - Underwood HS and Kentucky State University, where he was Captain of the Basketball team. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, where he also played for the basketball team. He retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky as the State Coordinator of the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, after previously serving in several HR leadership roles. In retirement, he continued his service to the Commonwealth in his role with the KY Senate Clerk Staff. Prior to returning to his Old Kentucky home, Van was a long-time employee of General Motors in Dayton, OH. Van was a former Post Commander of VFW Post #9235, an Honorary Kentucky Colonel, and was active with the Grad Club in Frankfort. He was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon. Van will be missed for his kind-spirit, his beautiful smile and infectious laugh, his generosity, his class and his love. He was a true gentleman, who will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Clark Legacy Center 3000 Versailles Rd. Frankfort, KY 40601 with a reception to follow until 4:00pm. Memorial visitation will be held from 12:00pm until the time of service.
