Obituary
Wallace "Wally" D. Soard, 80, of Lexington and Ormond Beach, Florida, husband of Carol Freeman, died Thursday, December 16, 2010. He was the son of the late Roy and Lena Clay Foley Soard.
Wally was a broker, developer, builder and owner of Soard Realty for 50+ years, as well as being business partners with his wife, Carol, founder of Eckman/Freeman and Associates. He was a talented artist, motor coach enthusiast, Great Dane owner/breeder, classic movie aficionado, traveled extensively around the world and had an avocation for cooking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Eric (Laura) Soard; daughter, Paige (Michael) Bales; mother of his children, Bobbye Soard; grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, and Lucas Soard, and Kaitlin and Cameron Bales; sister, Peggy Floyd; and numerous relatives and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Soard; and brother, Edward Soard.
Wally will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Funeral Information
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 6-9 pm, Thursday, January 6 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing, to share food, memories, and to pay tribute to Wally's life and legacy. A Memorial Service will take place at 2 pm, Friday, January 7 at Pax Christi Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
