Obituary William E. "Billy" Nelson, 86, of Lexington, husband of Minnie Sue Lane Nelson, died Friday, December 10, 2010. A native of Lexington, he was born April 14, 1924 to the late Ola and Robert "Bob" Feck and William Nelson. Mr. Nelson was retired from the Army Reserve and also an Electronic Technician. He was also retired from LF Cigarette Service in 1980. He was a Sergeant Major in the United States Army Reserve. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII and also served in the Navy Sebees during Getmo Bay Uprising. Mr. Nelson was a lifetime member of the VFW, member of Post #8 and also a member at Victory Christian Church. Mr. Nelson and his wife traveled all over the world after retiring. He especially enjoyed cruises, more so than flying to foreign countries. Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his daughters, Mary Margaret Nelson, Nicholasville and Pat (Dr. Kooros) Sajadi, Lexington; and his sons, Mike Nelson, Jimmy Nelson, William Robert Nelson, and Richard Anthony Durrum, all of Lexington; a special aunt, Mary Margaret Johns, and a special daughter in law, Nancy Parvin, Lexington; granddaughter, Kimberly Parvin Cooper and her husband Tracey, GA; great grandchildren, Taylor and Ella Cooper, and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Information Visitation will be 11am-1pm, Tuesday, December 14 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. Service will follow at 1pm with Rev. Tom Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Gary Haley, William Lane, Robert Giles, Mike Nelson and Tracey Cooper.
