William Perry Jackson

Obituary William P. "Bill Jackson, 84, born on April 10, 1926, in Ashland City, Tennessee to Wyatt and Irene Jackson, passed away at home on May 1, 2010. In 1952, Mr. Jackson moved to Lexington, joining Winmar Corporation as Secretary-Treasurer, retiring in 1992. He was a business partner in numerous companies, including an Anheuser Busch distributorship. From 1974-1984, Mr. Jackson served on the Lexington Center Corporation Board as Finance Chairman and Chairman of the Board, overseeing the development of the Lexington Civic Center and Rupp Arena. He was a Mason and die-hard Republican. After his retirement, Mr. Jackson developed a passion for Tennessee Walking horses. He created a successful breeding, training, and showing operation, resulting in numerous owner/horse/trainer of the year awards and championships. Mr. Jackson lived life to the fullest and exactly how he wanted to live it, even riding horses and motorcycles in his 80s. He was a die-hard UK fan. He was the consummate Southern gentleman with a kind word and helping hand to everyone he met, experiencing great joy in giving to others. He meant so much to many people and will be dearly missed by all who love him. Mr. Jackson was a loving father and wonderful role model. He is survived by his children, Michael, Kathy, Janet, and LeeAnne; his brother, Bob; grandchildren, Ashley, Andrea, Austin, Cameron, Blaine, Will and Alexandra; and great grand-daughter, Camryn. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Todd, and brothers Wyatt, Erwin, and Dick. Funeral Information Funeral Service will be 4 pm, Friday, May 7th, 2010 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. A Gathering of Family and Friends will follow from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will take place Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee.
