David Eugene Van Sickle

David Eugene Van Sickle Sr., aged 89, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026. Born on June 5, 1936 in Freemont, Michigan to Edmund and Elsie Van Sickle, David was a respected stockbroker and a devoted family man. He served on the Shelby Hospital Board, was an avid golfer, and loved any kind of card game.

He retired to Versailles, Kentucky, where he enjoyed the serenity of Woodford County.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene Bucher Van Sickle, who shared 70 wonderful years with him. David's legacy continues through his sons, David Eugene Van Sickle, Jr., and his wife Laura, and Timothy Van Sickle. He was cherished by his grandchildren, Gerielle Bogus and her husband Nick, Simone Van Sickle and Maxwell Van Sickle, and he delighted in his role as a great-grandfather to Olive Bogus.

David will be remembered with love and fondness by his brother, James Van Sickle, and his wife Lynn, who shared in many family gatherings and memories over the years.

David leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and dedication to his work, touching the lives of those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
