Linda Jean Moreland

Mar 23, 1950 — Sep 12, 2026

Linda Jean Moreland, 76, wife of Larry Moreland, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026. She was born in Chicago, IL, on March 23, 1950, to the late Clair Wilbur Reynolds and Eleanor Grace Lorenz.

In addition to her loving husband, Larry, to whom she had been married for 54 years, Linda is survived by her daughters, Melissa Jean Montgomery (Tommy), Mary Beth Bauer (Nick); her son, Michael Allen Moreland (Robert DiTomassi); her sister, Laura Reynolds (Ray Doerrer); her grandchildren, Tessa Montgomery, Ellie Montgomery, Lucy Bauer, and Leah Bauer; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Linda and Larry moved to Versailles, KY, in 1985, where they built a beautiful ranch home in which to raise their family. Linda was a crafter, a teacher, a cook, a seamstress—a true homemaker, but most of all, she was a devoted wife and loving mother. From Girl Scouts to swim meets to youth retreats, Linda cared for her family in every possible way. She taught. She listened. She supported. She protected. And showed her children what it meant to love patiently with her time and devotion.

Eventually, her children grew up and started families of their own, whom she loved and cared for just the same. Linda’s gratitude, joy, and perseverance have been an example to all who knew her.

On the afternoon of September 12th, their granddaughter was on stage at the Twilight Festival performing in the Woodford County Orchestra. With family in attendance, Larry stayed home to be with Linda. As the orchestra played "I Will Always Love You,” a soft, cool breeze swept through downtown Versailles. It was just past noon. Linda passed at 12:10 pm. She lay peacefully in the home she and Larry built so many years before, now with a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories together.

Her Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Versailles United Methodist Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm, with a luncheon afterwards.
