Mary Lyle Hartley

Mary Lyle Chapman Hartley, 96, widow of Harry Hartley, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. A native of Versailles, she was born on October 29, 1929 to the late Virgil and Louisa Chapman. Mary was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lexington.

Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews, Lynda Gerding (Adolfo), Hope Elliot, Howard Townsend Chapman, William Spurgeon Chapman (Mary), Holly Chapman (Glenda), and William Thomas Prather (Tammy).

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Sherman Lyle Hartley, her sister, Doris Chapman Prather, and her brother, William H. Chapman.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill.
