Velda Florence Redmon-Staggs

Velda Florence Redmon-Staggs, 90, passed away peacefully onto the presence of her Savior on Saturday, August 8, 2026. A native of Versailles, she was born on June 28, 1936 to the late Virgil “Hicks” and Mildred Southworth Redmon. Velda retired from Texas Instruments, was a member of South Elkhorn Christian Church, and grew up attending Hillsboro Baptist Church. A graduate of Versailles High School. Velda was an avid UK Sports Fan, loved the Cincinnati Reds, and loved tennis.
Velda is survived by her daughter, Vivian Salley (Larry), Lexington; her sons, Mike Roark (Sandy), Versailles, Donald Roark (Anna), Lexington, Daniel Roark, Lexington, and Randall Roark, Lexington; her grandchildren, Cynthia Isham, Shawn Roark, Brittany Roark, DJ Roark, Barrett Salley, Mitch Salley, Josh Salley, Danielle Ritchey, Jeremy Anderson, Jonathan Hiler, Nicole Fields; as well as her 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald Redmon and Donald Redmon.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill with Michael Swartzentruber officiating. Burial will follow at Versailles Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Jeremy Anderson, Jonathan Hiler, Barrett Salley, Josh Salley, Mitch Salley, and Grayson Salley. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care and South Elkhorn Christian Church.
