Brenda Joyce Bailiff

Brenda Joyce Bailiff, nee’ Couchman, passed away on May 27, 2026, peacefully with her three children present. Her daughter, Kimberly Connell, son Michael Bailiff II, and daughter Shari Waterman, and daughter in-law Theresa Bailiff.

Brenda was born on April 4th 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri, She touched the lives of those who knew her through her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit. Throughout her journey, Brenda cultivated lasting connections and steadfastly supported her loved ones.

Brenda was a beloved mother to her children. She leaves behind her three children and her four grandchildren Michael Bailiff III, Christopher Connell, Shianna Thurston, and Jake Bailiff and ten Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother Ica Couchman, nee’ Barlow; her sister Fran Long, nee’ Couchman; and her father Richard Couchman and her husband, partner and Love of her life Michael Bailiff Sr., whose memory Brenda carried in her heart.

Brenda's life was filled with quiet strength and a steadfast commitment to those she loved. She will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and the many ways she enriched the lives of others. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy endures in the lives she has touched, and she will be forever missed.
