Lee Simmons Wright Ii

Lee Simmons Wright II, 82, of Portland, Oregon, passed away November 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 21, 1943, in Portland to Richard Wright and Sylvia (Woodward) Moultray and was raised there. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in 1961 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (Physics) from Portland State College in 1966.

Lee began his career in 1966 as a nuclear engineer with Idaho Nuclear Corporation and later joined Tektronix, where he worked as an engineer until 1990. After his engineering career, he pursued his lifelong passion for art, establishing his own professional art business, Advertoons. He was an avid comic book collector, 3-D and science-fiction enthusiast, and enjoyed sharing his artwork and creativity with others. He was also active in the Gladstone Community Center, where he formed many lasting friendships, and at home he shared daily companionship with his beloved dog, Teddy Bear.

Lee was married to Marcia (Meacham) Wright from 1966 to 1988. In 1991 he married Lynda (Wollam) Wright, who preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Wright) Schroder and Laura (Wright) Hart; granddaughter, Jonna Trabosh; and great-grandchildren, Asa and Andie Morrison. He is also remembered by his nephew, nieces, cousins, and many longtime friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gladstone Senior Center or Yorkie Rescue of America (Oregon Chapter). Memorial details will be shared privately by the family.
