Linda Joyce Martin

Linda Joyce Martin passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on August 21, 2026.

Linda was born in Cottage Grove, Oregon, on April 8, 1948, to Martha and Paul Holder. Soon after her birth, her family settled in Brownsville, Oregon, where she grew up with three sisters and seven brothers.

Growing up in Brownsville was always one of Linda's fondest memories—playing with friends and family, and attending community and school functions. She attended Brownsville elementary and middle schools, graduating from Central Linn High School in 1966. Shortly after, she married Stanley Martin on December 13, 1966. They lived in Woodburn and Donald, Oregon, before settling in Butteville, Oregon, for 45 years, where she was a homemaker and raised her two sons, Kevin and Jason.

She was active in her community, participating in the Rebekah Lodge from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s. In the early 1990s, she began working as a front office receptionist at The Women's Clinic in Tualatin, Oregon, and later at The Women's Clinic at Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City, Oregon.

Following the passing of her husband, Stan, in 2011 after a long illness, Linda continued to work at Willamette Falls Hospital until her retirement. She remained in Butteville for a couple of years before moving to Woodburn, Oregon, where she resided for the rest of her life.

Linda is survived by her two sons, Kevin Martin of Canby, Oregon, and Jason Martin of Vancouver, Washington; daughters-in-law Cherice Martin of Vancouver, Washington, and Caryl Martin of Canby, Oregon; her sister, Cordia Sprague of Mena, Arkansas; and her brothers, Kenny Holder of Salem, Oregon, and Harold Holder of Medford, Oregon. She is also the proud and loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; her parents, Martha and Paul Holder; and eight siblings.
