James Jay Severns Jr.

James Jay Severns, Jr, age 83, of Graham WA, passed away peacefully on October 18th. He was born on March 28, 1942 in La Grande Oregon to James Jay Severns and Effie Beulah True.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Blanche Severns, with whom he shared sixty-four years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. He is survived by his three sons Thomas Severns, Gerald Severns, and William Severns.James Severns served his country with honor and distinction as a Warrant Officer in the United States Army, including service during the Vietnam War. His quiet strength, humility, and steadfast character were hallmarks of a life devoted to duty–both to his nation and to those he loved. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for his church.He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and a man who met life’s challenges with grace and patience. Those who knew him will always recall his gentle spirit and his unwillingness to anger.A memorial service will be held at Holy Disciples Catholic Church on 11/13/25 at 10am. With the internment to follow the next day 11/14/25 at 1:30pm at Tahoma National Cemetery.
