Jane Molyneux Slover

New Jersey native to Pacific Northwest transplant, Jane Molyneux Slover, 89 of Redmond, WA, died April 19, 2026 of natural causes.

She was born in Montclair, NJ in 1936 to Albert and Edna Hunt, who were early residents of Long Beach Island, NJ. She had an idyllic life in a small beach town with her younger brother, Jeff, and several girl cousins. She recalled the need for black-out curtains during WWII and dating the boys who came from the big city to spend the summer on “the island.”

Jane met the love of her life and spouse of nearly 68 years, Frederick R. Slover, at the end of high school and wasted no time in marrying the handsome Navy airman. They lived briefly in Key West, FL where Fred served at the Naval Air Station, working with dirigibles.

Daughter, Deborah was born in 1955 in New Jersey; son, Kevin Russell in 1960 in West Virginia; and son Brian Curtis in 1961 in Washington state where the family lived the rest of Jane and Fred’s lives.

In later years she especially enjoyed volunteering at a Cancer Society Discovery Shop and made several good friends there.

Jane will always be remembered as a caring friend and involved grandmother. It was very sad to see her diminished by dementia the last few years of her life, but we will always remember her at her best.

Jane was preceded in death by son, Brian, her brother, Jeffrey, and husband, Fred and is survived by daughter, Deborah and her spouse Gary Ferguson and son, Kevin and his wife Dana. Her grandchildren are Ian Ferguson, Caitlyn Stallings, Wes Slover, Nate Slover, Laura Slover, Shea Brandt and Tannah Slover. Her great-grandchildren are Benji Ferguson; Jane Stallings and Zander Ferguson Price; Ingrid and Ansel Slover; Samuel, Micah and Zander Slover; and July Bourland and Ender Brandt.
