Annette Eileen Almoite

Annette Eileen Almoite, 59, of Edgewood, WA, passed away peacefully on July 15th, 2026, at her home with her loving family at her side. A native of King County, Annette was born on January 13, 1967, at West Seattle General Hospital to Mike Urabeck and Janet Duke. She graduated from Federal Way High School in 1985, where she proudly served as the drill team captain during her senior year.

Above all else, Annette’s greatest role in life was being a mother. Before meeting her husband, John, she walked the road of a devoted single mom, and her son, Tyler, was truly her entire world. Her fierce love and unwavering concern for his happiness and future remained central to her heart until the very day she died. Her deep capacity to love also extended to her beloved cats, whom she cherished like her bonus kids. Lukey was her original companion, and she later welcomed Bud, a cat who looked just like Lukey's twin; she loved them both fiercely.

When her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Annette stepped forward with incredible devotion, personally ensuring she was settled into a comfortable adult family home and checking on her weekly with unyielding love and care.

Annette brought a vibrant, joyful energy to everyone around her. She absolutely loved hanging out with her friends and family, and nothing paired better with her laughter than a great glass of red wine. Alongside her favorite people, including her dear friend Joanne and her husband Jeff, and her high school "forever friend," Beth Lehman, she lived for shared adventures, especially their frequent, unforgettable trips to Las Vegas. She was also a fun-loving, doting aunt who treasured her nieces, and her warmth made her a magnet for love.

Her innate capacity to care for others also fueled her professional journey. In 2015, Annette graduated from Green River Community College with an associate’s degree in applied science in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. That same year, she began her career with the Orting School District, dedicating a beautiful decade of service to her beloved students. One of Annette’s passions laid in working with children with varying disabilities, using her creativity, enthusiasm, and love to help them build independence, find confidence, and embrace teamwork. Her kindness left an indelible mark on peers, students, and families throughout the Orting community.

In the late upon graduating HS- Nettie worked at Village Inn Federal Wa & Victoria, TX and Azteca Burien. In the early 90’s she began a career in Air Freight at Martinair Holland-SeaTac and moved to trucking in 1993 working for Farwest Freight Systems–Sumner and Puget Sound International-Tacoma for 2 decades.

Annette is survived by her beloved son, Tyler Harp; her husband, John Almoite; her mother, Jan Duke; her father, Mike Urabeck; her brother, David Urabeck; her sisters, Michelle Urabeck and Joanne Orr; her uncle, Jeff Duke; and her cherished nieces, Erica and Rachel Harbeson, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends who will carry her memory forward. She was preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne Harbeson.

Annette will be deeply missed by her family and the countless friends who loved her dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 4, 2026 at the Browns Point Improvement Club, 201 Ton A Wan Da Ave NE Tacoma, WA 98422 from 12pm - 4pm.
