Lillian B. Shepard, age 85, of Venice, FL died April 20, 2008. She was born May 18, 1922 in Charleston, WV to Luther and Pearl Harper Baldwin. She married Gordon Shepard on November 6, 1948 with whom she remained until his death in September 2007. Lillian was educated in Huntington, WV and worked as a bank teller. She was the first female bank teller in Charleston, WV. She later worked as a bookkeeper in numerous locations in Charleston, Clarksburg, WV, and Ashland, KY. She also was a secretary to a school principal in St. Albans, WV. In retirement, she settled with her husband in Venice, FL in 1983. Survivors include her daughter, Leigh Calitri and husband Robert of Ashland, KY; her son Phillip Shepard and wife Christina Johnson of Elmira, OR. Her favorite activities included reading, working puzzles, handicrafts, and taking care of her loving family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
