Sue (Forbes) Snow, beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 10th surrounded by her family. Sue was a woman of extraordinary grace, intelligence, charisma and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sue was the daughter of George Glenn Forbes and Alice Bess (Deyton) Forbes. She grew up in Winfield, PA with her two brothers George G. and William J. Forbes along with her sister Nora Ellen Forbes, who was also her closest confidante and friend throughout her life. Susan (Farr) Forbes, wife of Sue’s brother Bill was regarded as a wonderful sister in law.

Sue's unwavering love story with her husband, William James Snow, spanned an incredible 56 years, a testament to the strength of their bond and the depth of their commitment to one another. They met at Penn State and remained pride filled loyal Nittany Lions. They made homes together in Laguna Beach, CA, Coco Bch, FL, Grafton, MA and Venice , Osprey & Nokomis, FL.

As a proud alumna of PSU Sue's spirit and commitment to her alma mater were unwavering. She was not only honored as a Penn State Campus Cover Girl but was also recognized as a PSU La Vie Belle, a title bestowed upon a very select group of seniors for their beauty, academic achievements & leadership. Each Belle significantly contributed to the university's development, welfare, spirit, and tradition.

As a member of the Delta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Sue exemplified the values of sisterhood, leadership, and service. Throughout her life, she remained deeply involved in the KKG community, serving as the president of the alumnae association of Sarasota & Manatee for 3 years and holding a variety of other positions within the association. Her dedication and leadership earned her the affectionate nickname the “North Star," guiding and inspiring those around her with her warmth and wisdom.

Sue’s legacy of love and devotion lives on through her only child, Farley Boyle, who looked up to her mother with immeasurable admiration and respect. She found joy in her role as a grandmother to Farley’s three daughters, Mackenzie, Chase, and Abby and was very thankful for the day that her son in law Patrick Christian Boyle came into her daughter’s life.

Sue was an incredible athlete and passed her athletic well rounded genes to all of her “begats.”

She loved gardening, swimming and finding treasures on the beach.

In her professional life, Sue was a dedicated educator, spending ten years as a passionate and inspiring 4th-grade school teacher. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, shaping the minds and hearts of countless young students who were fortunate enough to have her guidance.

She stood by her husband’s side for over twenty years of service while owning and running the highly successful Mom & Pop shop “Seven Bridges Nursery & Produce” in Sarasota, FL.

She was an American history buff and was fascinated by Lewis & Clark, the Oregon & Appalachian Trails, the Civil War, World War II and all of the countless sacrifices made by so many that have contributed to our freedoms and where we stand as a country today.

Sue's adventurous spirit knew no bounds, as evidenced by one of her proudest life achievements of obtaining her pilot's license—this feat exemplified her fearlessness and determination to conquer new horizons.

Her passing leaves a void in all who knew her, but her memory will be cherished and her legacy will prevail through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and love.

Sue will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her spirit living on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
