Nancy Griffin

Biography Nancy Lee Griffin, born May 20, 1938, in Evanston, Wyoming, passed away December 25, 2015, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, at the age of 77. She passed suddenly and without suffering while enjoying the holiday with family. Born to Donald Francis Frederick and Lillian Norris Frederick, Nancy grew up in Evanston and became a Psychiatric RN. She practiced most of her career at St. Benedict Hospital in Ogden, Utah. After moving to Lakewood, Colorado, Nancy was an active leader with Non-Practicing Part Time Nurses Association (NPPTNA) in Denver. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Nancy was creative with an ongoing interest in floral design. She loved dogs, enjoyed playing card games, adored the mountains of Colorado and Utah, and enjoyed travel, taking numerous cruises in her retired years. Having dealt bravely with Juvenile onset Rheumatoid Arthritis since her late teens, Nancy was a shining example of how to take the challenges life gives us head-on with gusto, a positive attitude, and a good laugh. Nancy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Herbert G. Griffin, son Rod Griffin (Sonya) of Cocoa Beach, FL, daughters Carrie Joles (Alan) of Las Vegas, NV and Elizabeth Griffin of Clearfield, UT, brothers Donald Frederick (Paula) of Houston, TX, and Bud Frederick (Linda) of Bakersfield, CA, brother-in-law Del Griffin of Ogden, UT, and sister-in-law Marilyn Griffin of Missoula, MT, granddaughters Tiffannie Chorack, Brenda Tabura, and Allison Forrester, grandson Charles Rainsdon, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and devoted friends which she established wherever she lived. Plans for a celebration of Nancy’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to do so may make a memorial donation to their charity of choice.
