Carol Baldwin Strange, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, James F. Strange, Jr., and her parents, David and Angell Baldwin of Jonesville, SC. Born December 24, 1940 in Jonesville, SC, Carol graduated from the Columbia Hospital Radiology School in 1961. During her career, she cared for patients at the Columbia Hospital, Richland Memorial Hospital, and the University of South Carolina Student Health Center where she served for more than 30 years. She retired in 1997. She loved gardening, working in her yard, family gatherings, a good cup of coffee, and an ice-cold Diet Coke. Carol worshipped at Shandon Baptist Church for 27 years and was an active member of her Sunday School class where she had many beloved friends. She leaves behind her daughter, Beth Parks (William); granddaughter, Kaitlyn Long; sister, Patsy Lawson (Jerry, deceased); brother, Frank (Barbara); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and devoted friend, Randall Shealy. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Greenlawn Serenity Gardens at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
