Philip Andrew Edelmayer, 25, of Columbia, SC, passed away early morning on Monday, April 22, 2024. He was born Thursday, March 25th, 1999 at Baptist Hospital to Mark and Pamela Edelmayer. Philip adored being a twin and cherished the special bond with his brother, Robert. Philip also enjoyed the company of his friends. He turned to music for comfort and an escape. He had a passion for automotive body work and found peace in fishing. He took pride in his sense of style, always looking sharp. Philip was known for his politeness and always having the best manners. In his childhood, Philip loved baseball and the moments of pitching to his brother as he played catcher. Philip was very loving, and compassionate, and always gave the best hugs. Philip was preceded in death by his twin brother, Robert Edelmayer; his grandparents, Wendell and Louise (Cooper) Rooks; grandmother, Betty A. Smith; aunt, Sharon Rooks; uncle, Robert Rooks; Dan Robson affectionately known by the family as “Uncle Booty”; aunt, Debbie Edelmayer, his cousin, Allyson Goff and many beloved friends. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Pamela (Rooks) Edelmayer; sister, Courtney Edelmayer; and the beloved family dog, Bentley and cat, Pierre. He is also survived by his grandfather, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, April 29th from 6 PM to 8 PM and services will be held Tuesday, April 30th at 2 PM in the chapel at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Reverend Randy Moore of Horrell Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens.
