Funeral services for Linda Long Harsey, 80, of West Columbia will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with burial to follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Reverend Ed Lynch will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the funeral home. Mrs. Harsey passed away on June 27, 2015. Born January 4, 1935, in Pelion, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Bessie Taylor Long. She was an active member of Airport Baptist Church for many years and a devoted mother to her four children. Later in life, she was employed by Lexington Medical Center as a PCU monitor technician. Linda was loved by family, friends and coworkers. She was artistic, loved to read, and always had a sense of humor. She passed on her talents and interests to her children and grandchildren. Linda met her last days with the same grace that she has met her disability for the last several years. Surviving are a son, Keith Harsey (Kathy); daughter, Gail H. Crouch (David); 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and loving nephews. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Darlene Harsey. In addition to her parents and three siblings, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Harsey and a daughter, Terri Spires. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers of Lexington Extended Care for their long and loving care, the caregivers of the ER and on the 6th floor at Lexington Medical Center and the staff of Hospice Care of Tri-County during her recent illness.

Greenlawn Memorial Park

Greenlawn Memorial Park

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
