Raymond Lewis Clemmons, 61, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 27th, 2018 in Summerville, South Carolina. Raymond was born on May 5th, 1957, in Charleston, SC, to Annie and James Clemmons. He graduated from Bonds Wilson High School in 1976. He married Melisa Peek in 1978, and the couple made their home in Summerville, SC. The two welcomed their first child, Tiffany Anne, in 1980, and their second child, Ashley Rae, in 1983. His children remember him as a loving, supportive, hilarious man who encouraged them to pursue their dreams and enjoy life. Raymond is survived by his wife Melisa; children, Tiffany and William Nichols and Ashley Clemmons; granddaughter, Annabelle Nichols; siblings, Pat Austin, Debbie and Ed Carter, Michael and Kathy Clemmons, and Sharon and Bill Thomas; sister-in-law Pat Clemmons; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Clemmons LaFlamme; father, James William Clemmons, Jr.; stepfather, Ollie LaFlamme; brother, James William Clemmons, III; and brother-in-law, Charles Austin. Raymond was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who was passionate about his family, classic cars, and racing. Raymond worked in the auto parts industry consistently for 45 years. He was an active and dedicated member of Grace Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. A memorial is scheduled for Sunday, August 5th, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church (1600 Old Trolley Road, Summerville, SC 29485). A visitation period with the family will take place from 1-2:30pm. The service will begin at 3pm, followed immediately by a dinner in celebration of Raymond’s life. Pastor Richard Willsea will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend to celebrate, remember, and honor Raymond. Donations can be made in his name to Grace Lutheran Church (Columbarium Fund). Arrangements are being handled by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services Summerville.
