ROBERT "CAL" SCHUMACHER, 68, of Jefferson passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at his home. He was born on July 22, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Robert J. and Anna C. (Siegler) Schumacher. Cal married Linda Wollin on December 5, 1987, in Jefferson. Cal was the owner of RCS Electric Motor Center in Jefferson which is currently being managed by his son. Cal graduated from Watertown High School in 1962. He was employed by Kottwitz Electric Motor Service in Watertown. He also managed the electric motor shop at Modern Machine and Tool in Fort Atkinson prior to establishing RCS Electric Motor Center in Jefferson in 1972. A lost art today, he was very good at rewinding electric motors and also built his own test equipment. He was always inventing and building something and had a natural ability to fix anything. Cal will long be remembered for his inventive ideas, as well as his "out of the wild blue yonder" sense of humor. Cal loved boating and fishing and caught his first musky on Big Siss Lake near Hayward. He enjoyed relaxing with his family at their mobile home near Jordan Lake. He was a devout Green Bay Packers fan. He had a passion for cars and was also a pilot and helped restore a 1947 Stinson 108-2 which won the Best Stinson award at EAA AirVenture in 1979. Cal will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda of Jefferson; Son, Chad (Julie) Schumacher of Waukesha; Daughter, Misty (Craig Schoeller) Nordness of Jefferson; Grandchildren, Cole and Ava Schumacher, Nicholas and Nathan Nordness, and Jazmyne Schoeller; Mother- in- law; Pearl Renz of Aztalan Brothers Tom (Debi) Schumacher of Hancock, and Lee (Debbie) Schumacher of Clyman; Brother-in-laws, Ronald (Linda) Wollin of Virginia Beach, VA, and Alvin Wollin of Fifield, Nephews, Taj (Becky) Schumacher (Wautoma) and Brandon Schumacher (Watertown); Niece, Bryn Schumacher (Milwaukee); and other relatives and friends. Preceeded in death by brother-in-law James Wollin. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson with the Rev. Nancy Carmichael-Stoner officiating. A gathering time for friends and family will be at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
