December 11th, 1952 - July 20th, 2015
Thomas E. Pierce, 63, former resident of Hagaman and Perth, resident of the Edward L. Wilkinson RHCF, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with his loving family at his bedside. Born December 11, 1952 in Amsterdam, New York he was the son of the late Kenneth and Edna Walsh Pierce. He attended Amsterdam schools and he was a lifelong area resident. He was employed a number of years for Coleco Industries in Amsterdam. Tom loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a NASCAR fan and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was his favorite NASCAR driver. He also enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling. In his early years he liked to go hunting. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by a son, Thomas Pierce, Jr. of Amsterdam; three daughters, Melissa DePalma (Vincent) of Amsterdam, Kristel Mosher (Jamie) of Perth and Tina Pierce of Broadalbin; two sisters, Ella Bassett of Fort Johnson and Barbara DeRonda of Schenectady; several grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Kenny and a sister, Donna. A memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 12 noon at the Maple Avenue Cemetery, Maple Avenue, Fultonville, NY with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard officiating.
