Marion A. Sleezer
December 16th, 1948 - May 20th, 2014
Mrs. Marion A. Sleezer, 65, of Gloversville, passed away at Nathan Littauer Hospital on May 20, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Marion was born December 16, 1948 in Gloversville, daughter of the late Kenneth Waffle and Barbara Brott Waffle. She was educated in area schools and employed as a supervisor at the former Grandoe Corp. for 38 years prior to the onset of illness three years ago. Marion enjoyed hiking and camping at Caroga Lake in her earlier years. She was a wonderful cook and looked forward to casino visits. Her true passion was her family, she was especially devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren Survivors include her husband Donald Edwin Sleezer of Gloversville, whom she married February 5, 1969. Marion leaves two daughters; Doreen Gillis of Amsterdam and Gail Groves (Fred) of Johnstown. She is also survived by seven siblings: Linda Hickok (Tom), Carol Gray (Ed), Patricia Morse, Barbara Hobbs, Becky Thompson, Richard Waffle and Kenny Waffle (Martha). Additional survivors include her grandchildren; Christopher, Michael (Ashley), Samantha, Kaycee (Joel), Frederick, Meghan, Brandon, and her great grandchildren: Kiana, Joseph, Madison, Adrianna and Nirvannah as well as several nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by a sister Beverly Waffle and four brothers; David, Terry, Raymond and Michael Waffle. A graveside service for urn burial will take place at Ferndale Cemetery Johnstown, on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:30 am with Reverend Matthew Wetsel officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville.
