Shirley L. Frye, 81, of Broadalbin, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010. She was born April 10, 1929 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Rudolf and Hazel Casper Kohl. On October 22, 1945, she was united in marriage to Francis Frye. They shared over forty four years together until his passing May 14, 1989. Shirley was a hard worker. She worked from the age of 16 to just this past Tuesday. Her work ethic was beyond compare- never taking a sick day. She was also an avid Yankees fan. Shirley will be sadly missed. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Menge, of Broadalbin; two grandsons: William Menge Kelly of Broadalbin and George Menge of Clifton Park and two great grandchildren: Ashley and Cody Menge. In addition to her beloved husband, she was predeceased by two sisters: Marjorie Renzo and Marilyn Redman. Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jeffords and Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin, NY 12025. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 11 at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. R. W. Williams presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shirley's family to assist with the funeral expenses. Donations may be mailed in care of the funeral home.
