John G. ?Jack? Doyle, 74, of Morrow Rd., Amsterdam, NY passed on Wednesday evening October 18, 2006 to join his wife Sally, who pre-deceased him in September of 2005. They were married on May 16, 1954. Born in Amsterdam on March 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Jack & Edna Holt Doyle of Amsterdam?s south side. A lifelong resident of Amsterdam, he attended local schools & graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, class of 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy & a member of the John J. Wyszomirski Post #701 in Amsterdam. He worked for the New York State Thruway Authority, General Electric and the Montgomery County Department of Social Services before retiring in 1994. A union man, he was a former IUE member and later held the office of union president of the local chapter of the CSEA. Jack was a jovial guy who loved life and his family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his only brother Ronald. Survivors include his five children, Debra Cramer and her husband Chris of Colorado, Alan Doyle and his wife Becky of New Hampshire, Cindy Hewitt and her husband JR of Galway, Gregory Doyle of Hagaman & Tammy Simmons and her husband William of New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Kristin Sweeney, Samantha & Ben Cramer, nieces, nephews and cousins. Full Military Honors and committal services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 12:00 Noon at the G. B.H.S. Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
