Dorothy Eleanor Perrone Cirillo, 76, of 6 Robin Street, Gloversville, passed into the arms of Our Lord, peacefully, at her home on Saturday afternoon, August 12, 2006, with her loving husband at her side, after her long struggle with M.S.A., a Parkinson?s type illness. She was born on March 30, 1930 in Gloversville, NY, daughter of Mario and Nancy Recesso Perrone. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School, class of 1948. On January 23, 1949, she was married to her dance floor sweetheart; Frank A. Cirillo Sr. They have shared a wonderful marriage, blessed and full, precious and enduring for 57 years. She was a Roman Catholic, strong in her devotion to God, and lived with faith and prayer throughout all her days. She was a devout parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville. Dorothy, affectionately called ?Dottie?, loved her husband, Frank, and her family with a love fierce beyond words. For her, there was no joy greater than the days she spent with them. She enjoyed many activities, especially dancing with her husband, even taking dance lessons and participating in a dance club for many years. Their dancing took them to many various locations where they made so many wonderful friends. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting so many beautiful gifts she left us, cooking, gardening, home decorating and sewing. Her work as a seamstress was impeccable and complex, with one of her most beautiful accomplishments being her sister Marilyn?s wedding gown. During her early years as a wife and mother, Dottie worked at home, taking in sewing repairs and alterations, and later, providing child care to many children over the years. After her own children were grown and on their own in the 1970?s, she began working as a receptionist in the office of Littlewood Optical, which later became Dinapoli?s, in Amsterdam, where her husband, Frank, was the managing optician. They both retired about 12 years ago. She and her husband cherished a deep bond with each other and, together, with their family. She will be missed more than words can express. In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her loving children, Sandra Peters and her husband William Peters of Gloversville, Frank A. Cirillo Jr. and his wife Cindy of Delmar, and Nancy Mascardi, and her husband Vincent, of Gloversville. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Sarah Peters Adam Barnhart, Ryan Peters, Alicia Mascardi and Jessica Cirillo, as well as her great-grandchildren, Rose and Luke Barnhart. Also, she leaves her loving sister, Marilyn Donald Blanchard, and their children, Lorrie Tim white, Lynn Chris Collins, Donald Blanchard Jr. Julie, and David Sandy Blanchard, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Mario Perrone and Nancy Recesso Perrone. Her life was rich with family and special friends, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, so many not mentioned, but thanked for their support during her illness. Relatives and friends and invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 15, from 4-7 pm at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:15 am at the funeral home with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt, Carmel Church, Gloversville. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Johnstown. The family would like to thank all hose who cared for Mom during her illness, especially her health care aides, Jennifer, Brenda and Gysey. We also thank Dr. Disney, his office and his nurse, Kathy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Parkinson?s Foundation, 1501 Northwest 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136-1494, St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, or to a favorite charity of choice.
