Mr. Gerald J. Coon, 45 of Gloversville, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a long illness. He was born July 12, 1959 in Gloversville, the son Dorothy Parks Coon and the late Walter Coon. He was educated in Gloversville schools and joined the Marine Corps in 1976. He had been employed the last several years as a driver for Glove City Taxi. Gerry was an avid and well known sport card collector. Survivors include his wife, Laurel Bunn Coon of Gloversville whom he married June 8, 1986, his mother of Gloversville; a son, Jerry Scott Coon of Winter Park, Florida; two stepsons, Ken Hickok and Kevin Hickok of Gloversville; a sister, Laura Huddleston, and a brother, Burt Coon. He is also survived by two granddaughters and one grandson, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Kobuskie - Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38103.
