Richard "Rick" Ellis
December 24th, 1946 - January 7th, 2024
Richard "Rick" Ellis died January 7, 2024. Rick was born on December 24, 1946 to Robert and Ann (Wrobel) Ellis. Rick graduated from St. Pat's high school before enlisting in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. After his service to our country, he returned home and had a successful career with Niagara Mohawk. Rick enjoyed spending time with family, friends and loved to travel. He was a skilled outdoorsman with a passion for fishing and hunting. Rick was known on Oneida Lake as the Captain of his boat “One More” pursuing his passion for Walleye fishing. Rick possessed a quick wit and enjoyed sharing it with friends while savoring a PBR. He was extremely proud of his children and their families. Rick was predeceased by a brother, Bob Ellis and stepson Chris Spack. Rick is survived by his wife, Denise, children, Tim (Caryn) Ellis, Jon (Karen) Ellis, Julie (Kyle) Legnetto. Grandkids Bailey, Nathan, Brady, Sydney, Sophia, Justin, Kaylee (Nick) Bailey. Also survived by the mother of his children, Lenore Ellis and siblings, Bill (Maryann) Ellis, John Ellis, Nornie (Dave) Walsh, Peggy Ellis (deceased brother Bob), brothers-in-law, Bill (Pat) Edwards and Tom (Karen)Edwards. As well as several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be on Monday, January 15th from 4-6PM followed by a Military Ceremony at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, LaFayette, NY. Burial will be private. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Rick's memory to the American Red Cross.
