It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Scott Avchen on August 19, 2024 in St. Petersburg, FL. Tom was born on May 26, 1952 in Perth Amboy, NJ.  He attended Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School and earned his bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of South Florida. 

 Tom  was well-known for his kindness, care, and love for life.   He enjoyed the simple yet profound joys of life.  Whether it was playing tennis, gardening, playing guitar or spending time by the water, Tom found solace, joy and happiness in these activities.  His green thumb was evident in his beautiful garden, which brought him much peace and happiness.

Tom had a gentle and caring way about him.  Even as he himself was in declining health, Tom remained constantly positive and hopeful.

Thomas leaves behind his dear siblings, Lisa (Rocky) Brooks and Daniel (David Johnson) Avchen, who will continue to honor his memory and celebrate his legacy. 

 He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Alan and Helen Helfgott Avchen whom he lovingly cared for in their declining years.

His gentle spirit and caring nature will forever be remembered by all who knew him.Tom will be deeply missed.
