Barbara Jean Henigbaum-Papp, age 86, of Venice, FL, passed away on October 18, 2024. Barbara was born November 8, 1936, her parents John and Olga Heine, have preceded her in death.Freeport Illinois was home to Barbara. After she graduated from high school, her love for music led her to Chicago institute of Music, where she graduated with honors. She applied and was accepted to become a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Barbara was a member of the Atlanta Symphony for 25 years, as the second chair violinist.Barbara met and married John Henigbaum, who was also a member of the Atlanta Symphony. John had two daughters from a previous marriage, Ellen and Carolyn, whom Barbara loved her entire life. After John’s passing, Barbara married a childhood friend, Stanley Papp. They grew up together and knew each other at a very early age.
Stanley also preceded Barbara in death.Barbara was active and supported various organizations such as, the sisterhood of the P.E.O, Eastern Star, and various music charities.Barbara was also active and a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral in Springfield, Illinois.A celebration of life will be held at St Paul’s at a later date.
