Gale Marie Cooper, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Gary, Indiana, on November 23, 1944, Gale’s life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and her zest for life’s adventures.

Gale was raised in Gary, Indiana, and later moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, where she and her husband, Jeff Cooper, raised their daughter, Celeste. For the past 18 years, Gale resided in Marana, Arizona, where she found immense joy in the breathtaking sunsets and vibrant wildlife of the desert she called home.

A devoted wife to Jeff Cooper and a loving mother to Celeste Cooper, Gale’s family was her greatest pride and joy. She was the daughter of the late Jeanne Divich and Michael Divich and is survived by her beloved sister, Sharrie West, and Sharrie’s husband, Melvin. Gale was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne and Milan, whose memory she honored throughout her life.

Gale’s passions included golf, skeet shooting, and traveling the world. She had a particular fondness for her adventures across Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. Though her golf days were years ago, she often reminisced about the thrill and challenge of the sport. Her warm and adventurous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Most recently, Gale became a Mahjong player and enjoyed afternoons with friends playing the game.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the International Myeloma Foundation, an organization close to Gale’s heart, at https://www.myeloma.org/.

As per Gale’s wishes, no ceremony will be held. Her family and friends will honor her memory in their hearts and through the cherished moments they shared with her.

Gale Marie Cooper will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
