Dennis Michael Long passed away on January 25, 2025. Dennis was from Island Lake, Illinois, and had spent the past two years with remarkable people at Alden Meadow Park in Clinton, Wisconsin. Dennis was born on July 15, 1959, in Akron, Ohio. He is survived by his sister Elise Frattura and his nieces Sydney Frattura-Tunstall (George) and Addyson Frattura-Kampschroer, as well as many extended family members and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Long. Dennis graduated from Schulte High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1977. After graduating from high school, he attended Indiana State University and St. Norbert’s College. He later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin a career in roofing. Dennis returned to the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago and began his own copper roofing company, Integrity Roofing, and led a team of over 20 employees for decades. He loved training and working with his Akita dog, Choki and sailing in Lake Michigan. Dennis especially loved riding his custom Honda Valkyrie motorcycle through the Wisconsin rural landscape with his lifelong best friend, Walt. Dennis was also a proud uncle and brother who supported and loved his family very much. Dennis’ family extends our sincere heartfelt thank you to all at Alden Meadow Park for their unparalleled support and care, and to Heartland Hospice for their thoughtfulness and compassion over the past year. A celebration of life and burial in Lake Michigan, where Dennis loved to sail, will occur this coming summer. Dennis’ favorite song was Dream Weaver. “I've just closed my eyes again. Climbed aboard the dream weaver train. Driver, take away my worries of today. And leave tomorrow behind.” You are missed!
