Pettingill, George William Jr, 76, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on July 10, 2025, at St. Anthony’s Hospital. George was born in Geneva, NY, and moved to DeLand, Florida, in 1990, then to St. Petersburg in 2005.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; his son, George III; his parents, George W. and Hilda Kopf; and his sister, Nancy Kisner. George is survived by his daughters, Kelly Pettingill and April (Christopher) Bush, his son, William Pettingill, his granddaughters, Margaret, Isabelle, Samantha, and Elizabeth, and his sister, Linda Miesch, as well as his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
George was a salesman for most of his life and an avid fan of the Yankees and the NY Giants. Not only did he enjoy spending time with his family and friends during his retirement, but he also loved lounging on the couch with his dog, Belle. His notable wit and funny sayings will be remembered by all who love him.
George did not wish to have a funeral service; instead, he wanted everyone to remember him in ways that would bring a smile to his face. Instead of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a donation to the American Heart Association.
