Michael Francis Sykes Jr. passed away on June 15, 2025. He was a very loved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, son, grandson, and friend.
He loved spending his time taking rides on his motorcycle, or hanging out with his family, grandchildren, and dog. He had 11 grandchildren who knew him as “Chromepa” or “Da Popos”. Mike was a passionate collector or rubber duckies and was sure to buy one on every trip. He loved animals and kids, and animals and kids loved him. So much so, that his friends and family fondly called him a “protector of the innocent”. He was a hard worker, someone who could always make you laugh, and someone that you could always depend on. With his jokes, funny comments, pet names for everyone, and his willingness to go to war for anyone he cared about…. We are all deeply feeling his absence. He will be greatly missed.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Linda Maxine Rau, and Michael Francis Sykes. He was also preceded by his grandparents, Joe and Nell Montalto; and his dog, Blue.
He is survived by his dog, Henry; beloved wife, Tiffany Baer-Sykes; his sisters, Kimberly Ann Sykes, and Angela Nell Sykes; his daughters, Hannah Lynn Freeze, Brandi Marie McPhail, Naomi Neveah; stepdaughters, Stephanie Baer, Becca Potter; stepson, Steven Robert; nephew, Cody Sykes; nieces, Linda Rosales, Jennifer Flaherty, and Amber Karam.
