Gary Allen Tidwell

With heavy hearts, we announce that Gary Allen Tidwell was called home on July 5, 2025. Born to Harold and Joan Tidwell on July 15, 1959, Gary grew up in Oklahoma, where he graduated high school and built the foundations of a life rooted in dedication, curiosity, and compassion.

Gary proudly served his country for six years in the National Guard. His career spanned the oilfields and Halliburton, before settling into his role at New Mexico Gas Company, where he faithfully worked for 38 years until retiring in 2024. Whether navigating rugged terrain or complex systems, Gary faced each challenge with quiet determination.

Outside of work, Gary embraced life with joyful enthusiasm. He was a skilled cook, always eager to try new recipes and share them with those he loved. His hobbies reflected his spirit of adventure—he had a passion for fishing, hunting, rod building, and crafting remote control planes and cars. Technology fascinated him, and he found delight in solving computer puzzles and exploring new programs.

Gary's legacy is held dearly by his wife of 35 years, Norma, of Albuquerque; his sister Betty Ashley and her husband Kip of California; his brother Henry of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews, including Jazmyne Singleton.

 Though the pain of his absence is profound, we take comfort in the memories he leaves behind. Gary’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

 The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to honor Gary’s enduring spirit. To those who worked with or knew Gary, please take a moment to reflect on your time with him and the imprint he made on your life. He is missed more than words can express.
