Robert John “Bob” Solfisburg

January 4, 1956 – July 1, 2025

Robert John Solfisburg, affectionately known as Bob, or Saus age 69, of Green Valley, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2025.

Born on January 4, 1956, in Aurora, Illinois, Bob was the beloved son of Bud and Mary Solfisburg (Levi). He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Benet High School in 1974. He later moved to Arizona to attend the University of Arizona, where he earned a degree in Marketing in 1979 and was a proud member of the SAE Fraternity. It was there that he met the love of his life, Amy Ladewig. Bob and Amy married on April 23, 1983, in Holland, Michigan, and spent over four decades building a life rooted in love, hard work, and shared adventures.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his family was his proudest accomplishment, and he found immense joy in their company-whether skiing in the White Mountains, or relaxing by the waters of Lake Geneva. Bob leaves behind a vast circle of cherished friends who were like family to him.

Professionally, Bob was a seasoned land broker with nearly 40 years of experience in residential and commercial acreage. He thrived at firms such as Grubb & Ellis and JBS Real Estate. Ever the entrepreneur and visionary, Bob embarked on a new venture when he and Amy took over De Anza RV Resort just north of Tubac, Arizona. Over 16 years, Bob transformed De Anza into more than a business-it became a community, a home, and a testament to his tireless work ethic and knack for bringing people together.

Bob was also a lifelong University of Arizona sports fan and season ticket holder for both basketball and football. Whether on the golf course with friends or cheering on the Wildcats, Bob lived with enthusiasm, generosity, and a love for connection.

In 2024, he embraced retirement with his usual sense of adventure, setting his sights on travel and cruise planning with Amy. Though his life was cut short, he filled his years with purpose, love, laughter, and legacy.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Amy (Ladewig) Solfisburg; his devoted children, Rob Solfisburg, Kelly, (James) Bradshaw, and his adoring grandchildren, Jackson and Joshy. Siblings, Jimmy, (Alberta), Lou Scanlon, Joan, (Joe) Daul, sisters-in-law Nancy and Betsy Solfisburg, Cousin Mitch Levi, and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by Bob, are his parents Bud and Mary Solfisburg, brothers Andy, and Chris. Brother-in-law Bill, in-laws Don and Irma Ladewig.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched across his personal and professional journeys. Laughter followed Bob wherever he went-his humor was a gift.

A Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 5150 N. Valley View Rd. On Friday, August 22 at 11am.

The family will receive guests at St. Thomas from 10:30 to 11:00 prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bob’s honor to a charity of your choice or by simply raising a glass in celebration of a life well lived.
