Robert "Bob" Eugene Jones
December 8th, 1937 - August 10th, 2025
Robert Eugene Jones “Bob” of Kingman, Arizona passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on August 10, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bob was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on December 8, 1937 to parents Pearl and Daisy and was known as “Bobby Gene” while growing up in that region.
Bob served in the Army from 1956 to 1959. During his service, he was able to visit a World’s Fair special exposition in Germany, a memory that remained cherished throughout his life.
He and his first wife Patricia raised their children in Janesville, Wisconsin. He was a longtime employee of Gilman in Janesville where he was affectionately referred to as “Chief”. When his children were growing up, other kids would call their dad “Willie Nelson”, because Bob had long hair and wore a bandana. While he is not in fact Willie Nelson, he does bear a striking resemblance, and that’s a comparison that continued to be made throughout his life.
Bob retired to an off-the-grid existence outside of Kingman with his second wife, Clare, where be enjoyed the quiet pace of life in the warm desert sun surrounded by mountains. He was extremely proud of the house he built up there and enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the deck he built and admiring the view. He also loved to travel with Clare in their RV, particularly in the Southwestern and Pacific Northwestern states in the U.S.
Bob had a dry sense of humor and was known to crack jokes, especially of the “dad joke” variety, and it was hard to resist laughing around him. In addition to being missed by his family and friends, he will be sorely missed by his beloved dogs, Pepper and Ginger.
Bob is survived by his children Ann, Barbara, Robert, and Denise and their mother Patricia; grandchildren Tia, Sara, Stefanie, Melissa, Elizabeth, Bridgette, and Gretchen; great grandchildren Taylor, Rilynn, Paisley, Keeli, Bill, Olyver, Adriana, Tom, Luka, Keyanna, Crystalanna, Aryanna, Logan, Skylynn, Lawson, Aubrey, and Bentley; and one nephew, two nieces and many friends.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Pearl and Daisy; brothers Benjamin, William, and Edward; daughters Elizabeth and Catherine; and his second wife Clare.
His family would like to thank the care teams in the ICU, trauma ward, and trauma ICU at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they would most especially like to thank nurses Celeste, Cinthia, and Sydney for their expert and compassionate care.
Bob has been laid to rest in Mount Gilead Cemetery in Carrollton, Illinois, near his parents and brothers as per his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s name to Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) or a dog shelter/rescue. If you don’t have a local dog rescue, the family suggests Mohave County Animal Shelter in Kingman (https://www.friendsofmcas.org) or A Path 4 Paws in Las Vegas (apath4paws.org).
