Donald Gene Pease
June 15th, 1938 - August 15th, 2025
Donald Gene Pease graciously passed into the arms of his loving savior, Jesus Christ, at home on August 15, 2025 at the age of 87 years old. He was born on June 15, 1938 in Yakima, Washington to Harold E. and Dorothy Pease. He was the second born of four children, following older brother, Harold, and preceding sisters, Nancy and Phyllis.
In his youth, Gene was adept at yo-yo tricks and marbles, amassing a large collection of marbles that his grandkids later loved to admire. While living in Yakima, he worked picking fruit in an orchard like his father and at Hiway-Market with his brother, Harold.
Eventually, Gene moved to Seat1Ie to attend SeattIe Pacific College. He worked as an elevator operator at the library, and it was in SeattIe that Gene met his bride of 60 years, Jackie. Initially, they did not like each other, but by their second date, Jackie had determined they were going to be married and told him so. They married on June 6, 1959 in Seattle Washington. Their family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild was always a point of pride for Gene.
Gene was often affectionately called the "Energizer Bunny" by friends and family because he was always on the move with one of his many projects or tasks.
He had many interests and loves Including gardening, baking, ice cream, camping, cheering for Boise State and the SeattIe Mariners, coaching Boise youth baseball, going to Disneyland, classic cars, building dams out of rocks in creeks, and going to his kids' and grandkids' events.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jackie Pease. He is survived by his children, Robin Thomas, Wendy Bernard (Ron), and Jeff Pease (Debi); his grandchildren, James Tyler Thomas (Cheri), Ryan Combes (Janet1e), Justin Northway (Kelly), Jeffrey Blake Northway (Kat), Michael Pease (Lindsey), Hailie Duncan (Bruce), and Greyson Pease; his great grandchildren, James Cameron Thomas, Noah Thomas, Chase Northway, Matthew Thomas, Kaden Combes, Amy Northway, Kai Combes, Mabel Northway, Caroline Northway, Dorothy Northway, Abraham Northway, Cadence Pease, and Magnolia Duncan; his great-great grandson Charley Thomas; his brother Harold Pease (Margaret); his sisters, Nancy Sunde and Phyllis Brown, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws too numerous to list.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Loving Embrace Assisted Living facility and Keystone Hospice for the loving care Gene received.
Gene will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
