Lorraine M. Babcock, 73, of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 with family at her side.  Lorraine was a loving mom to her children and was selfless to a fault.  She worked as a CNA for many years at St. Camillus, James Square and Loretto Nursing Homes.  She later returned to school and completed her MOA and worked for and retired from  SUNY Upstate Research Foundation.  She was an avid Yankee’s fan, card games and especially poker and Skippo.  Lorraine loved relaxing on her deck and enjoying her “bird sanctuary “ that her son in law, built for her.

She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard Babcock; her parents, Anthony and Arlene Masullo; brother, Robert Masullo; her best friend, Mary Riter.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Jonathan Babcock; daughter, Mindy (Jimmy) Hawk; sisters, Deborah Masullo and Kathy (John) Regan; “granddaughter”, Kaycee Hawk; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday, Aug. 25, 2025 from 4-6PM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse, NY.  Services will follow at 6PM, at the funeral home.

Contributions in Lorraine’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
