Ginger "Nani" Haunani Taylor Hastings

Ginger Haunani “Nani” Taylor Hastings, age 65, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday August 23, 2025, in Sacramento, California.

Born on February 1, 1960, in Beaumont, Texas, to Eugene and Polly Kahaunele, Ginger was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family showed in everything she did. She had a gift for bringing people together—whether it was planning the perfect party or simply making everyone feel welcome with her warm smile and open heart. Her kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her. She also had a playful side and loved a good trip to the casino. Win or lose, she always kept a positive attitude—and more often than not, she had a little luck on her side. Her laughter, her spirit, and the way she made even the smallest moments feel special will be missed beyond words. 

Ginger is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Roy Hastings; her four children: Lawrence Taylor, Teenie and her husband Wayne Siewell, Adam Hastings, and Reed and her husband Sam Bagwell. She was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren: Zoe, Andrew, Hayden, Kiana, Dylan, McKenna-Kathleen, Espn, Sutton-Rose, and Ginger-Claire.

She is also survived by her siblings: Gino Kahaunaele, David Kahaunaele, Robert Kahaunaele, Rose Layton, and Alice Mihacsi, and her many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Polly.

In keeping with her wishes, a private celebration of life will be held on Friday with immediate family to celebrate the warmth, joy, and light she brought into the world.
