Raymond "Jim" James Weisser
December 12th, 1945 - August 14th, 2025
Raymond James (Jim) Weisser, age 79 of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 14th, 2025, at his home of natural causes surrounded by family.
Jim was born on December 12, 1945, to Raymond R Weisser and Esther M Weisser in Sioux City, Iowa. Jim graduated from Central High School in 1964 and went into the US Navy where he served in Roda, Spain. Jim attended college at Western States College in Gunnison, CO and also at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Jim started a career in the heating and air conditioning industry in 1970s. He became the co-owner of Poudre Valley Air, Inc of Fort Collins CO, with his brother Robert for 50 years.
While at Colorado State University, Jim met his wife Sally Campbell in 1969, and they married on September 11, 1971. They were blessed with two children, Kimberly Weisser in 1982 and Stacey Weisser in 1984.
Jim was a very active and gifted athlete. Jim participated in Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth, and Junior Legion Baseball in Sioux City. Jim played football for the Sioux City Central High School football team, he played on the High School Basketball team, he was also a discus thrower on the track team. Jim loved to ski, he played racquetball, he was an avid golfer and went on to be an excellent fast pitch softball pitcher in his 20s and 30s. Jim loved to travel, especially on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Jim enjoyed being a grandpa and enjoyed Sunday evenings cooking dinner for family. Jim also enjoyed relaxing during the wintertime at his home in Tonto Verde, AZ.
Jim was an outstanding community member. He served on several community boards and was a long-time member of the Sertoma Club.
Jim was also an outstanding friend and boss. Jim’s family wanted to ensure that his large group of his life-long friends from all walks of life and all eras are noted in being very special to his heart and he will be dearly missed by all.
Jim was predeceased in death by his father, Raymond R Weisser, his mother Esther M Weisser and his ex-wife Sally Weisser. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Weisser of Fort Collins, CO and Stacey Weisser Nicol of Windor, CO, son-in-law David Nicol, granddaughter Zoey Campbell Nicol, brothers Kenneth Weisser, (Charlotte) of Sun City, AZ, and Robert Weisser (Renee) of Timnath, CO, along with several nieces and nephews.
