Brenda Yon
December 7th, 1946 - August 31st, 2025
In Loving Memory
Brenda Joyce Yon, 78, of West Columbia, passed away on August 31, 2025.
She was born in Hamlet, North Carolina in 1946 to Horace and Hazel Hale and grew up in Jacksonville, FL before moving to Columbia in 1960. Brenda attended schools in the Olympia part of Columbia and was a roller-skating food hop at Genes Pick and Chick. She lived in Springdale, SC in the same house from 1967 to 2024, where she worked with her best friends at Southern Class Hair and Nail Salon until her very late retirement.
Brenda was preceded in death by Payton McRae (beloved grandson), her parents Horace and Hazel, 2 husbands (Dale and Eddie),her sister(Teresa),her brother (Terry)and her long term boyfriend (Keith) that kept her fighting for every day. She will be missed by her 2 kids and multiple grandkids, her church family that she loved, and whatever cats and dogs she had laying with her in her final days.
We are happy that she is at peace now after a multi decade fight with cancer.
