Miriam Jones, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on September 2, 2025, in Beaufort, SC. Born on July 2, 1955 in Brooklyn NY, Miriam brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning of her life.

Miriam was a teacher aide in Charlton Street Elementary school in Southbridge, she also helped many people in the community learn English through the Library Literacy program.  She worked many years at American Optical and retired from 3M. She also worked part time at Colonial Spirits for many years.  Her dedication was to her family as she affectionately was known as "Mima" by her grandkids and many.

Beyond always helping others, Miriam was a woman of many passions. She had a deep love for music-especially "salsa" and her love for reading.  But above all else, she cherished time with her family, especially cookouts.

She is deeply mourned by her husband Brian "Jonsey" Jones; her daughters Lisa Cruz and Kathy Cruz: her grandkids Treston, Isaiah, Variana and Noah; siblings Alexander Rodriguez, II and Elsa Rodriguez as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, co-workers, and friends whose lives were touched by her.

Miriam was preceded in death by her father Alexander Rodriguez, her mother Rita Torres; grandmother Carmen Casanova; siblings Joe Rivera and Liz Arce, her beloved dog Gordo and a host of family members and friends who now welcome her home with open arms.

Though gone far too soon, Miriam's legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought to everyone around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM. There will a reception to follow the service.
