Albert “Todge” Lee Cross, age 93 of Blountville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Todge was born on April 10, 1932, in Bristol, VA to Guy and Dora Cross. On June 30, 1955, Todge married his best friend and love of his life, Betty White, and after almost 57 years of a beautiful life together, she preceded him in death on June 5, 2012. Todge bravely served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Todge loved his family, and he loved cattle farming. He enjoyed boating, water skiing and bowling. Todge was a devoted member of Booher’s Chapel Church and was loved by everyone in the community, and he will be truly missed.
Todge was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Betty W. Cross; two brothers, Howard Cross, and Lloyd Cross; and one sister, Beulah Camper. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Bruce L. Cross and wife, Dewanna; two granddaughters, Madison Combs and husband, Cory, and AJ Smith and husband, Tyler; great granddaughter, Carter Mae Combs; brother, Randy Cross and wife, Kathy; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Booher’s Chapel Church, located at 5314 Boozy Creek Road, Bristol, VA 24202.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Carter-Trent Scott County Funeral Home Weber City from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Booher’s Chapel Church on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 am with a graveside to follow at Booher’s Chapel Cemetery. Todge’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. David Hensley, Donald Turner and Rodney Pippin will serve as honorary pallbearers.
