Eleanor "Gina" Lagasca Dorion
August 2nd, 1963 - September 1st, 2025
Eleanor “Gina” Lagasca Dorion, 62, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and longtime resident of Salinas, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Salinas.
She was born on August 2, 1963, in Rizal, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, to Emilio and Artemia “Norie” Lagasca. Eleanor moved to Salinas in 1975. Eleanor graduated from North Salinas High School in 1982 and later graduated from Hartnell Community with her AA degree in accounting, and later attended San Jose State University, where she studied accounting.
Eleanor was the eldest of three siblings, guiding and caring for her younger sister and brother, Maria and Christopher. She dedicated over 30 years of her life working at JCPenney in Salinas, where she was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and warm spirit.
Through the introduction of their parents during high school, Eleanor met the love of her life, Noel Dorion. Their bond grew into a lifelong partnership, and together they built a beautiful family, raising three sons—Ryan, Randy, and Rylan—whom she cherished deeply.
Eleanor was a devoted member of Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Noel Dorion; father, Emilio Lagasca; brother, Christopher Lagasca; children, Ryan, Randy (Vanessa), and Rylan Dorion; nephews Andru, Anthony, Arick, Athan Lagasca, Clarence, and Caspar Silvania; nieces Madeline Nacer and Shailene Pimentel; uncle Amando (Melencia) Curamen; aunt Belma (Rolando) Chan; and cousins Mary Ann (Rolando) Artuz, Mary Belle (Nelson) Pimentel, Shiela Mae (Thirdy) Riel, and Jello (Jane) Curamen. She will also be remembered with love by extended family and countless friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Artemia “Norie” Lagasca; her sister, Maria Duenas; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Duenas.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Rosary Vigil at 4:00 PM, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd, Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr, Salinas, CA 93906, followed by interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St, Salinas, CA 93901.
