Richard L Vogt

Richard Lee Vogt left his earthly home Sept.4,2025. He was born to Ethel and Raymond Vogt Nov.11,1944 in Lincoln NE. He leaves his loving wife Mary-Margaret Cook, brothers Robert (Roxanne) of Lincoln NE, Bruce (Patricia) of Elmwood NE nephews; Ben, Tim, and Jeff; nieces Angie, Susan, Stephanie, and Stacy. Step-children Richard and Cathy Pursel. And is survived by son Gary (Dawn) and grandchildren Brittany and Jared.

 Richard grew up on a farm outside Elmwood NE. He received his PHD in mathematics and computer science from University of IL and taught at Butler University for 9 years and NE Wesleyan University for 24 years. He was an avid reader, world traveler, bicyclist, and loved football playing quarterback in high school. He also played semi-pro for the Lincoln Comets, while attending the University of NE. He ran 180 marathons in all 50 states, Canada, Australia Germany, Greece, and The Great Wall of China. He was a gentle, loving and respectable man, and will be sorely missed by all, who knew and loved him.
