Pauline Annette Garrett, 85, of West Deptford, NJ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 11. Pauline was born on March 9, 1940, in New York City, daughter of the late Ferdinand “Fred” and Mary Tischbein. A year later, the Tischbeins left New York City for Vineland, NJ to establish a poultry farm. Pauline graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Vineland in 1958. She worked as a secretary in the security department of the First National Bank of Woodbury and continued her career with First Fidelity and Wells Fargo banks. An active member of the Gloucester County Community Church in Washington Township, NJ, she served on the missions committee, hosted Bible studies in her home, and supported the Forever Young senior fellowship. Pauline felt a strong inclination to care for God’s creation – whether it be neighbors in need, aging pets, or her beautiful flower gardens. She was very creative and enjoyed crafting, painting, scrap booking, and making elaborate birthday cards.

Family

Pauline is the beloved wife of the late Benjamin F. “Frank” Garrett; loving mother of Debbie Van Fossen and husband Don, Michael Garrett and wife Mary, and the late Raymond Garrett; adoring grandmother of Dana, Kelly, Mike, Joey, and Jacob; devoted sister to the late Barbara Jernoske.

McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury

We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
