Joseph "Joe" V. Gleason
March 20th, 1950 - September 15th, 2025
Joseph V. Gleason (75) passed away on Monday, September 15th peacefully at his home. He was born on March 20, 1950 in Syracuse to Robert and Ida Gleason and was one of the “little kids” of 12 children. He graduated from Fabius Pompey High School in 1968. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1968 to 1972. Joe worked as an automotive and farm mechanic for over 40 years before retiring in 2014. He had a great love for his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ida, brothers Robert jr., Michael, James and Norman, sisters Sally Wallingford and Sandra Mosher.
He is survived by his wife Toni Gleason who he married in 1980. He is also survived by his son Mathew (Dawn) Gleason of Goldsboro, NC, daughter Lacie (Dennis) MacDonald of Lafayette, NY and his pride and joys, his grandchildren Robbie, Hunter, Jamar and Juliana. In addition, he is survived by brothers Peter and Jacob, and sisters Shirley Mallon, Patricia (Greg) Leary and Janet Gleason-Rose.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 18th from 4 to 7 PM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Ln, Lafayette, NY 13084. A celebration of life party will be held at a later date.
